USDA Organic Certified CBD - Why it matters?
We enjoy boasting that we are USDA Organic.
But what does that really mean?
Simply put, it means that our entire operation is certified to be operating under full organic practices by a third party entity which has thoroughly audited our farm and facility, including records and traceability.
Because we are vertically integrated operation, this certification ensures that every step of production is fully organic. With cultivar development, farming, processing, and manufacturing all happening on our site it is a significant undertaking to maintain full organic certification. We are very proud of this certification and it is a testament to our dedication to making the cleanest and highest quality hemp products available.
We were actually the first vertically integrated company in the US to obtain USDA Organic certification for hemp products. Our hemp farm was certified in 2016, and our manufacturing facility was certified in 2018. But even before we were certified, Organic practices have always been our way of life.
Hemp is a very special plant, one of it's amazing abilities is to act as a bioaccumulator. This means it readily absorbs toxins and heavy metals contained in the soil. Hemp extraction does not remove these undesirable elements, in many cases it actually concentrates them, meaning they end up in the product you are consuming.
This is precisely why USDA Organic certification is absolutely essential for hemp/CBD products, even more important than for other products, because of the concentrating nature of extraction.
